Prospective Educators seeking Alternate Route Programs in areas of Washington under served by Teacher Preparation Programs:

Candidates are encouraged to talk with the teacher preparation programs in their area and provide them with information related to the need for access to Alternative Routes to Teacher Certification in under served regions of the state. To find a list of approved teacher preparation programs in Washington State, click on the 'Teacher Preparation Programs' link to the left.

If you would like to send a message to the Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB) relative to the need for Alternative Route programs in Eastern Washington or other parts of the state that are under served by teacher preparation programming, please do. Our Board is comprised of practicing teachers, a principal, a superintendent and teacher preparation faculty. PESB members would appreciate hearing from individuals seeking to enter the profession from other fields.
