Teacher Academy Curriculum

The Professional Educator Standards Board, Office of Educator Pathways launched the Careers in Education Curriculum Revision Project in December 2014 in partnership with the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, Careers in Technical Education office. This Curriculum and Framework is the result of that effort and of the contributions of many educators across the state. The Professional Educator Standards Board, Office of Educator Pathways wishes to thank all of the Washington groups that contributed to the development of these standards and to all the individual teachers, administrators, and private sector subcommittee members who provided valuable validation of the standards for the Recruiting Washington Teacher program, on which the new curriculum is based and aligned to the Careers in Education program.

When you review these resources, bear in mind that the Teacher Academy Curriculum is in the early stages of implementation. By utilizing the curriculum in our Recruiting Washington Teachers pilot locations, we are able to gain more insight into what works and what needs to be refined. By engaging our stakeholders, Teacher Academy teachers and the students in these programs, we can craft a comprehensive curriculum that is ready for a real-world classroom.
